Copenhagen – Among the happiest cities in the world

The city where the famous writer Hans Christian Anderson died in 1875 is known as a fairytale city with loads of museums, great restaurants, such as Noma (named as the best restaurant in the world in 2010-12), and world-class shopping. E.g. the shopping center Fields is situated right next to the handball arena and is among Scandinavia’s largest shopping centers.

If you are in need for some exercise during your stay in the capital then consider renting a bike while you are here. Copenhagen is a bike friendly city where the locals loves to get out and about on two wheels. In fact, more than half of Copenhageners is using a bike every day. Why not also combine your visit with a trip to Malmö, Sweden? The city is only a few train stops away. The two cities are connected by the Øresund Bridge – made famous by the Nordic crime drama The Bridge. Both countries are proud handball nations.

The games in group D will be played in the newly build Royal Arena. The foundation was laid in 2013 and the construction was completed by December 2016. A few months later the world-famous group Metallica performed the first ever concert. Since then the arena has hosted many different events, from concerts and stand-up shows to sports e.g. the world-cup in ice hockey was held here in 2018.
